Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks and miss the Asian Cup due to an ankle injury.
Mitoma, 26, was forced off in the latter stages of the draw with Crystal Palace on December 21 and left Selhurst Park on crutches.
The injury will likely see him miss out on the Japan squad as they attempt to defend the Asian Cup, which takes place between January 12 and February 10 in Qatar.
